Together with founder and director Celita Lewis I designed these fashion patterns as apart of a collection for for AYR Fitzrovia – a luxury fashion accessory brand. The patterns were made into a collection of handbags and fashion accessories. The collection itself was inspired by the arrival of  The Empire Windrush which marked the first wave of Caribbean immigration to the UK in June 1948. The ship carried 492 passengers from Jamaica, wishing to start a new life in the United Kingdom. Besides their hopes and dreams they also carried a new sophisticated style and sense of fashion. It symbolises the fusion of two cultures and celebrates the arrival of this new sophisticated style and taste which was to change European fashion forever and which still echoes in the way we dress today.
